HOT TOPICS IN COLD CHAIN TO BE DISCUSSED BY PIONEERING BUSINESS LEADERS AT TCS&D 2017 IN SEPTEMBER

Brexit, sustainability, urban deliveries and shared logistics are among the key issues tabled for discussion at this year’s TCS&D exhibition in Coventry on 13th and 14th September, with speakers from Waitrose, Fowler Welch and TfL among those offering key insights into the future of the cold chain.

TCS&D’s free seminars will include valuable insight, market trends, details of product innovation and case studies from some of the UK’s most innovative businesses, as well as a chance for delegates to quiz business leaders.

Justin Laney, General Manager of Central Transport at the John Lewis Partnership, will share information on Waitrose’s sustainable approach to temperature controlled transport.

Nick Hay, CEO of Fowler Welch, will explain his views on temperature controlled storage and distribution of the future, giving insight into how the business has reduced its carbon emissions by 10 per cent in the past five years.

Tim Ward, Freight and Fleet Communications and Engagement Manager for TfL, will explain how the organisation is spearheading urban food logistics.

And Chris Sturman, Chief Executive of the Food Storage and Distribution Federation, will help delegates understand how Brexit will affect the sector and what can be done to protect their businesses.

Other speakers include Kevin Hancock, Managing Director of Rick Bestwick; Alan White, Managing Director of Fresh Logistics; and Dimitri Zissis, Senior Research Fellow in Supply Chain Modelling at Cranfield University.

The engaging conference programme at the RICOH Arena in Coventry, complements TCS&D 2017 – the UK’s only dedicated cold chain event, with exhibitors including Carrier Transicold, Combilift, Iveco, Transdek and SSI Schaefer.

Rob Fisher, Event Director at TCS&D, says, “We’re absolutely delighted to have innovators in cold storage logistics like Waitrose and Fowler Welch joining us to share their expertise with TCS&D visitors this year.

“If you work in refrigerated storage or logistics, this exhibition provides a one-stop shop for all you need to know, as well as an unparalleled opportunity to network and build relationships.”
