GASREC APPOINTS ACCOUNT DIRECTORS FOR THE NORTH AND SOUTH

Renewable fuels provider Gasrec has appointed two Account Directors to support its fleet customers and prospects as the road transport industry’s transition to cleaner fuels gathers pace. The company is on target to record a three-fold increase in demand for bio-CNG and bio-LNG by the end of 2020, versus volumes just 12 months prior.

To support the growth Gasrec has welcomed Mark Gilks to the new role of Account Director – North, bringing more than 15 years’ experience in cryogenics to the business. He is joined by Matt Hunt, who is promoted to Account Director – South, after six years as Gasrec’s Business Development Manager.

Gilks was most recently National Accounts Manager – Industrial & Automotive Solutions for Calor Gas, having joined the firm in 2015. Prior to that he spent more than a decade in business development roles at BOC UK & Ireland, spending his final two years as Major Account Manager LNG.

Commenting on his move to Gasrec, Gilks says: “Demand for renewables is really taking off. What was initially a handful of early-adopters taking one or two trucks has become blue-chip firms and hauliers of all sizes placing sizeable orders. For me personally, it was the perfect time to be joining the largest fuel provider in this sector.

“My brief from the outset is very clear; Gasrec has a strategic plan to develop its business in the North and Scotland, and I’m hugely excited to play my part in achieving this. Together, we have a vision for providing full UK-wide refuelling coverage to support the Government’s Road-to-Zero strategy.”

Matt Hunt joined Gasrec in 2014 as Business Development Manager and has played a key role in driving new business around the firm’s existing refuelling infrastructure. In his new post, he will be responsible for major accounts across the South, Midlands and Wales.

Hunt explains: “This is arguably the most exciting period we’ve seen in the renewables sector to-date. There’s some fantastic product on the market from the truck manufacturers, and together with a reliable source of bio-CNG and bio-LNG, it’s helping fleets to unlock a whole new level of efficiency and sustainability within their businesses.”

Both Gilks and Hunt will report to James Westcott, Chief Commercial Officer.
