WHEELY-SAFE LAUNCHES DEDICATED BUSINESS FOR AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND MARKET

UK-based vehicle safety technology specialist Wheely-Safe has announced the launch of a dedicated regional arm, Wheely-Safe Pty Ltd, to oversee customer engagement, distribution, and support across Australia and New Zealand.

The new entity will be headed by George Priest, who assumes the role of Director. Priest will manage all current and future business in the region, including enquiries, orders, and technical support.

The move comes in response to surging demand for Wheely-Safe’s innovative technologies in the ANZ market. The business already protects hundreds of fleets across the UK and Europe with its multi award-winning wheel loss detection, hub temperature monitoring, and intelligent tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) products.

“This strategic expansion enables us to provide localised service and support, ensuring we’re closer to our customers in the ANZ region,” says Gary Broadfield, Group Managing Director. “It marks a key milestone in our commitment to long-term growth and customer success in emerging markets across the Southern Hemisphere.”

Wheely-Safe technology sees robust sensors mounted in a bracket straddling two wheel nuts, with a pair of sensors fitted per wheel. Alerts are raised at the first sign of a nut starting to loosen. The same sensors also monitor temperatures from the area around the brakes and hub, to warn of potential fire risks at the first sign of temperatures rising – a particularly prevalent issue in the hot climates of Australia.

Wheely-Safe’s intelligent TPMS sensors screw onto the valve stem. These help to guard against the one third of roadside breakdowns which are due to tyre incidents, of which research shows 90 per cent are for pressure-related issues.

The latest generation system enables data to be transmitted not only to the driver in the cab but also to the transport management team back at base. This real-time information allows for quicker identification of issues, improving fleet management, reducing downtime, and enhancing vehicle safety.

While the Wheely-Safe management team in the UK will retain a strategic leadership role, the formation of Wheely-Safe Pty Ltd underscores the company’s dedication to meeting regional needs with greater agility and responsiveness.

Customers are encouraged to contact George Priest directly at George@wheely-safe.net or on 0409 760 990 for all future matters related to the ANZ region.

Notes to editor:

Wheely-Safe is an automotive technology business founded in 2010 by two lifelong friends – Gary Thomas, a Director of his own transport compliance consultancy, and Gary Broadfield, a Director of Technology and serial inventor for a large Japanese electronics manufacturer. Together they brought the marriage of skills required to help solve wheel loss issues in the automotive sector, and to tackle the huge number of vehicles driving every day on under-inflated tyres. The early years of Wheely-Safe concentrated on attaining worldwide patent protection and technology small enough to fit near the wheels of all vehicle types, from cars and vans to trucks and trailers – with its first products launched into the market during 2018, and a second generation following in 2022.
