New Volvos mark 40 magical years for London coach tour operator

Volvo Buses has delivered three new Volvo B8R MCV eVoTor coaches to Golden Tours, London’s leading tour and activity provider. The new additions make a magical entrance as the operator celebrates 40 years of business.

The new coaches join a fleet already heavily represented by Volvo, including existing eVoTors, B8L MCV eVoSeti double-deck buses and other open top models – in true London style. With this expansion, Golden Tours demonstrates its ongoing trust and commitment to Volvo Buses’ products and services.

Mikesh Palan, Managing Director at Golden Tours, says: “Volvo Buses has consistently proven to be a reliable and trusted partner for our business. Their vehicles deliver exceptional durability and provide the high-quality experience our passengers have come to expect from us. Celebrating our 40th year of service while expanding our fleet is a true privilege. We’re excited to continue building on this legacy for many years to come, with Volvo Buses remaining an integral part of the quality service we provide.”

The new Volvo B8R MCV eVoTor coaches are equipped with ample on-board luggage space and feature 53 high-quality seats, along with a centrally located sunken freshwater toilet that can be dismantled to create additional seating, increasing capacity to 55. Passengers can stay connected on the go with individual USB charging points, while a premium Bosch audiovisual system enhances the tour experience, delivering top-tier entertainment and information while on the road.

The B8R benefits from Volvo’s D8K engine for enhanced fuel-efficiency, producing up to 350 hp and a peak torque of 1,585 Nm. This is driven through a 12-speed I-Shift automated transmission which combines smooth and precise gearshifts with high average speeds, to ensure outstanding driveability.

Golden Tours is well known for providing high quality sightseeing tours and day trips across London and other popular UK locations, including Stonehenge, the Cotswolds and Bath. Established in 1984, the company now has more than 40 years of experience in the industry and is partnered with the international brand, Gray Line.
