XPEDIATOR RENEWS TRANSAID CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

Xpediator plc, a fast-growing international freight management group, has renewed its corporate membership of Transaid for a further three years, having originally signed a three-year commitment in 2019.

The business, which brings a wealth of expertise in freight forwarding, logistics, warehousing and transport support services, says its support for the international development organisation is a key part of its corporate social responsibility pledge.

Dave Gladen, Group Marketing Manager at Xpediator, says: “We are a business which lives and breathes transport every day, in everything we do. Once we’d been introduced to Transaid and had learned more about the projects they were involved with, coming on board as a corporate member was the natural next step.

“Knowing that our support for Transaid is directly helping to transform lives across Africa means a huge amount to us. It’s something we actively talk about with both our teams and our customers; we’re very proud to be supporting Transaid’s life-saving work.”

Gladen is leading the charge within Xpediator, having signed up as one of more than 40 riders from across the industry who will be tackling Transaid’s Cycle Malawi fundraising challenge this October.

He says: “I’ve taken part in charity runs in aid of Transaid, and some of my colleagues completed the Way of the Roses cycle challenge last autumn, but this is the first time we have joined one of the international events. I’m excited – it should be an incredible adventure!”

Commenting on their renewal of support, Florence Bearman, Transaid’s Head of Fundraising, says: “The unrestricted funding we receive through corporate memberships is vital as it enables us to test and implement new projects. It’s precisely this type of funding which allowed us to launch our first road safety projects in Tanzania and Zambia nearly 15 years ago – setting us on the path to the five professional driver training projects we are running today. We are delighted Xpediator chose to renew its support.”

Xpediator plc is a group of international freight management companies, operating in the UK and across Central & Eastern Europe (CEE). In 2017, the Group successfully completed an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), which is part of the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

The Group has three dedicated service divisions: Freight Forwarding, Warehousing & Logistics and Transport Support Services – employing more than 1,400 employees across 34 operational sites in the UK and CEE.

On the access to health side, Transaid is working with local partners and communities to strengthen access to health services, primarily in rural areas. They are also working to strengthen health supply chains in collaboration with local partners and governments.
