LINEAGE CHAMPIONS SCHMITZ CARGOBULL WITH ORDER OF 41 NEW REEFERS FOR ITS COLD CHAIN FLEET

Lineage, the world’s largest temperature-controlled logistics provider, has expanded its UK fleet with a further 41 refrigerated trailers from Schmitz Cargobull, for use on its wholesaler and major supermarket contracts.

Expected to get at least a decade of intensive use, the trailers join a 500-strong fleet, approximately 70 per cent of which are from Schmitz Cargobull – Europe’s largest trailer manufacturer.

Will Maycock, Head of Transport for Lineage, says: “We have been working with Schmitz Cargobull for 25 years and know we can trust their trailers to provide excellent value for money.

“And with the support we receive from the Service Partner network, we’re confident the new reefers will have a long service life, and we’ll get a good return on our investment.”

The latest generation of reefers from Schmitz Cargobull are lower in height and lighter than competitors’ trailers, optimising fuel-efficiency by reducing drag, without compromising on interior payload capacity.

Schmitz Cargobull’s Dynamic Ramp Protection (DRP) has been fitted to all 41 of the trailers as reinforcement at the rear of the unit, giving extra confidence to drivers who are required to reverse up to loading bays at distribution centres.

The reefers are equipped with Carrier Transicold Vector® 1550 single temperature units.

The new assets will be maintained by Rochdale-based Commercial Contract Engineers (CCE), one of Schmitz Cargobull’s 1,700 European Service Partners.

Lineage is a true partner offering customers a next day delivery service, seven days a week. It delivers more than 12,000 pallets a day from its 14 cold stores throughout the UK.
