MV COMMERCIAL’S BODYBUILDING EXPERTISE HELPS RECOVERY OPERATOR iRESCUE24 TO FUTURE-PROOF ITS FLEET

Specialist truck supplier MV Commercial has designed and built three new MAN TGL 12.250 crew cab trucks, with slidebed recovery bodies for Manchester-based Recovery Operator, iRescue24.

The new trucks, equipped with 250 hp Euro VI diesel engines, will allow iRescue24 to comply with the new Clean Air Zone requirements being introduced in cities across the UK from next year.

Paul Kaye, General Manager, iRescue24, says: “While we don’t have an official date for when Clean Air Zones come into force in Manchester, we have listened to Mayor Andy Burnham and are fully onside with his ambition for the Manchester Clean Air Zone.

“MV Commercial designed us a compliant truck that performed exceptionally when we tested a demonstration unit, so we’re confident our new assets will prove their full worth – both now as we go into our busy period, and in the future too.”

iRescue24’s new trucks are fitted with a 12-speed ZF TipMatic automated gearbox and rear air suspension and have a 5,000 kg capacity, 21-foot long steel slidebed body, which also features a 2,000 kg capacity second car lift.

The standard MV Commercial specification also includes a 10,000lb hydraulic Super Winch, Bawer stainless steel lockers and a Hi-Pro hydraulic lever control block with auto-tilt facility.

Additionally, the trucks feature LED lights, Loadar remote controls for the winch, body slide and tilt operations, plus 12v and 24v jump sockets, a wrecker kit and side-winching capstan.

Kaye adds: “MV Commercial supplied a very high vehicle specification as standard, offering maximum versatility and competitive pricing.”

The new vehicles will be part of a 50-strong fleet, which runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, recovering light vehicles in the Greater Manchester area.

MV Commercial’s Recovery Build Team has more than 35 years’ experience in supplying and fabricating recovery vehicle bodies, offering end-to-end build management for all new orders, as well as stock-built vehicles, which are ready to go for immediate delivery.

Its extensive range of recovery vehicle bodywork is based on the original MSM/Swinley designs, which have been modernised by the company’s expert design and engineering teams.
