Airdrie-based truck specialist MV Commercial has been named in the prestigious FEBE Growth 100 list of Britain’s fastest-growing, founder-led private companies.
The Growth 100 celebrates British business at its best – highlighting founders that are driving their companies to deliver significant sales, revenue and profit, against a backdrop of unprecedented economic challenges.
MV Commercial is one of only nine Scottish firms in the list of UK companies to be recognised for its entrepreneurial success.
Tom O’Rourke, MV Commercial’s CEO, who founded the company in 2001, describes the company’s Growth 100 listing as a major honour. “It highlights our consistent growth, financial strength and market leadership and underscores the unwavering dedication to excellence, quality and customer satisfaction demonstrated by my exceptional team across the UK,” he says.

With a burgeoning reputation as a crane truck specialist and provider of a large in-stock Ready-To-Go fleet, MV Commercial has experienced significant growth in the past two years. In 2021, it completed the largest acquisition in the company’s history, buying Grantham-based tipping trailer and truck body manufacturer Fruehauf out of administration in a multi-million pound deal.
O’Rourke adds: “Our rapid growth has been fuelled by strategic acquisitions, investments in facilities and systems, and our long-term planning and purchasing programme, which have enabled the company to take a leading role in the timely supply of specialised units for the truck, trailer, and van industries.”
To make the FEBE (For Entrepreneurs By Entrepreneurs) Growth 100 list, businesses met the following criteria: sales between £3m and £200m; trading for at least three years; making an operating profit in the latest financial year; founder(s) still involved.
The ranking was data-driven, with companies ordered by compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in sales over the last three financial years. Businesses could nominate themselves or were selected by FEBE contacting them directly, as well as by FEBE accessing publicly available financial information.
