Specialist operator Energy Haulage has powered up its fleet with a new 32-tonne Volvo FH 460 beavertail crane truck – dramatically extending the company’s lifting capabilities.
The new truck, built and supplied by MV Commercial and fitted with a Cormach 6000 E6 crane, will be used across the company’s varied operations, including general haulage and the supply of specialist generator equipment for outdoor events and construction sites.
Iain Cooksley, Senior Manager, Energy Haulage, says: “We selected MV Commercial as our supplier, primarily because the previous equipment we received from them has performed outstandingly. When we needed to expand, and upgrade our capabilities to carry extra weight and have a longer-reach crane, MV were our first port of call.”
The new truck has been carefully specified to meet the requirements of Energy Haulage’s specialist drivers. Providing a maximum payload of 11.5 tonnes and the ability to lift 2.6 tonnes at a reach of 15.6m, the expertly-engineered vehicle significantly extends the operator’s capabilities and has already proved instrumental in winning new business.
Cooksley says: “We believe that our new truck is set apart from anything else currently available in the country. It’s a major commercial differentiator for our business, and best of all, the lead time for receiving it was the quickest I have ever known for a new truck build.”
As the family-run firm places a heavy emphasis on looking after its team members, the cab has been tailormade for driver comfort. The high-specification interior includes a sleeper cabin with air-conditioning and a 12v power supply for cooking facilities.
The new unit has already been intensively used since its acquisition, with usage expected to peak during the summer events period. While out on the road, Energy Haulage can also call on MV Commercial’s nationwide support network, with more than 20 approved workshops across the UK and Ireland.
