Long serving Michelin man Stewart Pooley to head up company’s bus and coach sales team

Michelin solutions has appointed Stewart Pooley as Sales Manager for its UK and Ireland bus and coach division.

After more than two years as UK Original Equipment Manager for Michelin’s truck and bus arm, Pooley, 60, will be responsible for steering Michelin solutions’ ever-evolving digital offers into the marketplace.

A long-serving Michelin employee of 28 years, Pooley brings a vast breadth of experience to the role – having previously been part of the Michelin solutions sales team from 2013 to 2015 – and he’s excited by the technologies Michelin solutions is developing for the bus and coach sector.

He says: “The industry is changing at a fast pace, but Michelin solutions is ahead of the curve thanks to the range of digital offers which have already begun to help bus and coach operators strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of their fleets.

“These are vehicles that largely operate in pedestrianised environments – from the passengers they carry to people in the towns and cities they travel through – so safety is paramount to Michelin’s philosophy. We give that peace of mind which operators are looking for. And we always strive to have the most fuel-efficient tyres in the marketplace.

“I’m excited by the new technologies and innovations that we’ll be launching in the coming months and years – digital offers we’re convinced will significantly improve, enhance and simplify the process of running a bus or coach fleet.”

Having begun his career as a Michelin Car and Truck Representative in 1989, Pooley subsequently worked as a Car Specialist and Regional Manager in the South West before moving to then-Michelin Fleet Solutions as Regional Business Manager.

Pooley is based at Michelin’s UK headquarters in Stoke-On-Trent.
