South Wales-based JV Tree Services, has taken delivery of its latest Isuzu N35.125 Grafter from Commercial Motors (Wales), completing a project started in 2019 to convert the company’s four 3.5-tonne commercial vehicles to the Japanese manufacturer.
Having mounted two of its existing Isuzu Grafters with specialist arb bodies, the latest 3.5-tonner is the company’s second tipper to enter the fleet. Replacing an older vehicle from another manufacturer, it will primarily be used for firewood delivery, alongside towing chippers, trailers and access platforms for tree surgery and woodland management work in and around Cardiff.
Jon Hinam, Owner Operator of JV Tree Services, says: “We prioritise reliability when choosing new vehicles, and what we’ve seen from Isuzu so far has simply kept us coming back to the Grafter, it’s perfectly suited to our business.
“We often find ourselves working down narrow country lanes or on tight city streets, so to be able to combine a small vehicle footprint with unrivalled manoeuvrability, without having to compromise on payload capacity or towing power, makes our day-to-day operation much easier.”
The new Isuzu has been supplied with the necessary roadside and emergency work lights required to carry out contracts for local authorities in South Wales. JV Tree Services will benefit from the support of Isuzu Truck UK’s Customer CARE Programme, with Commercial Motors (Wales) providing all scheduled services and MOTs.

As with its previous four Grafters, JV Tree Services has opted for a five-year Extended Warranty and Free Servicing Package, which provides additional peace of mind beyond the manufacturer’s standard three-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
On the road up to seven days a week, the latest Grafter joins a mixed commercial vehicle fleet that also includes pick-up trucks, a tractor and a specialist all-wheel drive off roader.
