New business aviation operator, Union Aviation, has secured its worldwide air operator certificate (AOC) thanks to the dedicated support of comprehensive operational management solution, Centrik.
Based at Riga International Airport in Latvia, Union Aviation conducts business charter services, alongside all associated aircraft maintenance and management. With agreements in place to operate five aircraft, Centrik has played a vital role in establishing and demonstrating the operational framework of the business.
Gunārs Ivulāns, Compliance Monitoring Manager at Union Aviation, says: “After conducting detailed research on a number of different systems, Centrik stood out to us for how much it was able to do – from risk and safety management to training, manuals and EFBs, it puts everything we need in one place.
“For a new business like ours, to be able to quickly and easily access all relevant operational information has been vitally important in helping us acquire our AOC. From here, Centrik will be integral to the business, assisting us to operate in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.”
The system, which has been tailored specifically to Union Aviation’s individual requirements, allowed the company to effectively demonstrate to its regulatory authority that all the necessary manuals, flight information, document control, risk and safety reporting, training logs, personnel records and any other information required as part of the AOC process was in order.
“One example of how Centrik has played such a key role was in relation to a question from the regulator on Management of Change. We were able to quickly and easily create detailed workflows within Centrik to demonstrate exactly how this has been organised and managed within the company, providing a comprehensive answer for the regulator – and that’s just one of the many ways Centrik has made the process so much more efficient,” adds Ivulāns.
Moving forward, Centrik’s modular architecture will provide all staff and flight crew with a clear, intuitive, centralised dashboard accessible from any connected device. The system will manage every aspect of the day-to-day running of the business, including working seamlessly with Union Aviation’s flight scheduling platform.
Outdated and disparate paper and email-based processes will also be replaced and standardised within Centrik, covering everything from detailed flight crew training and certification, through to senior leadership meetings and all subsequent actions and processes. Everything is managed through Centrik, helping to significantly improve efficiency across the business.
Initially flying one Embraer Legacy 600, Union Aviation will soon be adding four more aircraft to its fleet to operate flights worldwide.
