Craig Wilkie has joined Bishop Pipe Freezing as a Trainee Pipe Freezing & Hot Tapping Technician as the business looks to the future.
Based in North East England, Wilkie is a Plumbing and Heating Engineer by trade but has been looking to broaden his skills and move into the commercial sector, taking on work on a larger, technical scale.
“I love what I do but wanted the challenge of learning something new in an exciting and demanding part of the market, solving problems and getting results for customers,” says Wilkie.
Before joining Bishop Pipe Freezing he worked with CBRE, the global commercial real estate services and investment group, as a Mechanical Engineer. He has also worked as a Plumber at the UK’s largest domestic energy supplier, Octopus Energy.
Having first experienced the plumbing and heating trade working with his father, Bishop’s recruit holds an NVQ LEVEL 2 in Plumbing and Heating from Tyne Metropolitan College and is certified to work on Unvented G3 Hot Water Systems.
Wilkie reports to Brian Park, Senior Pipe Freezing Technician at Bishop Pipe Freezing.
Cyril Bishop, Managing Director of Bishop Pipe Freezing, says: “Offering opportunities to talented people such as Craig, and ensuring that he receives top-quality on-the-job training to the highest safety standards, is at the heart of who we are as a business.”
