Drivers and customers benefit from pair of new generation DAFs at P W Gates Distribution

Pallet and warehouse specialist P W Gates Distribution Ltd has taken delivery of two new generation DAF XG 530 FTG tractor units from Asset Alliance Group.

The vehicles, supplied on a three-year full-service contract hire basis, are additions to a 49-strong commercial vehicle fleet – including seven previously provided by the Asset Alliance Group team.

P W Gates Distribution’s Managing Director, Peter Gates, says: “We’ve had DAFs on our fleet for a long time, but I’m delighted to be one of Asset Alliance Group’s first customers to experience these next generation models. Our drivers are very happy with the newer models too.”

He adds: “We have worked with Asset Alliance Group for more than three years and have always been impressed with how easy they are to do business with. From our first enquiry straight through to collection, they make the whole process simple, and their customer service is just excellent.”

The new vehicles will operate nationwide from the company’s head office in Welwyn Garden City and satellite depot in Bedford, seven days a week. They will pull Lawrence David curtainside trailers, delivering ambient food to supermarkets, including Ocado, and transporting building materials to customers including B&Q and Travis Perkins.

Founded in the 1970s, P W Gates Distribution Ltd is a family firm that operates 300,000 square feet of warehousing from two sites in Hertfordshire and two in Bedfordshire. The business specialises in collecting and delivering more than 4,000 pallets on a daily basis.
