SUPPORT MANAGER APPOINTMENT BOLSTERS IMPACT’S HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK EXPERTISE

Impact has appointed Andrew Dickson as Operation Support Manager, bolstering Impact’s heavy-duty truck expertise in this specialist sector with decades of industry knowledge.

Dickson brings more than 35 years of materials handling experience to the role, including 14 years working with heavy-duty trucks. Most recently, Dickson was employed by mining equipment manufacturer Joy Global in Australia as New South Wales Service Manager, and was responsible for overseeing technical, parts and training support for both customers and the manufacturer itself.

Commenting on his appointment, Dickson says: “Impact lives and breathes materials handling, and I’m keen to pass on my hard-earned knowledge to the next generation of Impact’s heavy truck engineers.

“In my experience, the larger the truck, the more specialist the maintenance regime – and the greater importance attached to maximising uptime. Customers aren’t likely to have a spare heavy-duty truck on-hand in the event of unexpected downtime; therefore proactive maintenance takes centre-stage – something that Impact understands completely.”

As Operation Support Manager, Dickson will provide expert managerial cover where required across Impact’s UK-wide network, and is currently working at the company’s branch in Bristol.

Dickson previously held a number of roles with various major companies in the industry, including Service Manager for heavy truck divisions in Victoria, Australia, and Europe, and a role as Dealer Development Manager for the Asia-Pacific region.
