DIXSON HAULAGE TAKES FIRST VEHICLES FROM FRAIKIN

Fraikin has supplied its first vehicles into service with Essex-based Dixson Haulage, replacing part of the company’s fleet with new assets on full service contract hire. The agreement has been tailored to maximise the customer’s fleet uptime, with servicing proactively scheduled to take place outside of peak periods.

The deal includes the supply of six 26-tonne Mercedes-Benz Actros curtainsiders, a Renault T 6×2 tractor unit and a 44ft Montracon curtainside trailer. They each replace older assets and will be used to transport a variety of goods across the UK, including clothing and textiles.

The vehicles will be maintained at Fraikin’s local branch in Enfield, with a collection and delivery service in place from the company’s South Ockendon base, to make servicing and maintenance hassle-free.

Gerry Sint, Director at Dixson Haulage, says: “Switching to Fraikin was an easy decision. They demonstrated a real commitment to getting under the skin of our business. Everything about the contract – from the specification of the vehicles to the maintenance plan – has been optimised to make our fleet even more efficient.

“Key to this is scheduling servicing to avoid our busiest periods, meaning we always have the fleet on the road when we need it. They also take care of much of the administration which comes with running a fleet, meaning we can focus on our customers and growing the company even further.”
Each of the new Actros rigids has been mounted with bodywork by JC Payne and all the vehicles are expected to clock up approximately 120,000 miles annually and be in operation five days a week.

The agreement offers Dixson Haulage the financial predictability of fixed monthly payments for the duration of the term. Plus, it has been tailored by Fraikin to include full servicing, maintenance and repairs, routine safety inspections, annual MOT testing, road fund licensing, tyre replacement, 24/7 breakdown support and relief vehicle cover in the event of unexpected downtime.

Sint adds: “From the moment of our first enquiry, the level of support we have received from Fraikin has been fantastic. They quickly understood our business needs and knew precisely the vehicles we needed for the job. I’m confident our fleet will continue to grow with Fraikin in the future.”
